Worry Lines Go Away

Worry Lines Go Away
Remember those care free and worry free days before you were a Mom? If I had to say what the biggest change is from pre-kids to post - it would be the amount I worry. Elizabeth Stone said it best -  “Making the decision to have a child - it is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ”  Lucky for me I have found some great - affordable- skin creams that are really working in minimizing my worry lines and even fading my age and sun spots. If you can't tolerate retinol without irritation, try the Olay Regenerist. it contains Niacinimide which works like retinol but more gently. Also, FYI, did read that you should avoid retinol if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. What are your fave worry away wonders?

Step Up to the Bauble Bar

Friendship bracelet with studs, very cute!

Hermes inspired for under $30.00

Like the J. crew one ALL the bloggers wear for almost half off!

Need I say anything, love this piece!

Custom - they make your name for under $100.00
Over the years, I have come to love costume jewelery. I love that if I lose it, or my child rips it off my neck, I am not going to have to report it to my homeowners insurance.  A burglar would be sorely disappointed after breaking into my jewelery box. Plus, looks change so often, costume allows you to update without feeling guilty. I would never begrudge anyone spending thousands on a classic piece (like your engagement ring or Mikimoto pearls) - but who REALLY knows the difference? Nothing can jazz up a plain white tee shirt better than a statement necklace.  Found this site after searching for pyramid cuff bracelets after drooling over the Hermes cuffs seen on the celebs. Check out www.baublebar.com for some amazing pieces.  Where do you get your costume jewels? Share!

Time to Buy Fur

Time to Buy Fur
I have been wanting both a faux fur vest and riding boots all winter, but couldn't bite the bullet without going over budget. Post holiday sale time may work in my favor. This is definitely the time of year to buy these items, most are half off! They aren't trendy and won't go out of style. A faux fur vest is timeless, suitable for any age, and can actually work into many outfits. Check out one of my new fave fashion blogger wearing it here.  I have always thought of myself as too preppy for this look, but with these prices I am going to shake it up a bit. Riding boots are also a classic, and are totally functional for walking in the city or suburbs pushing a stroller or chasing after little ones. Just don't forget a pop of color on the lip, and you won't even need makeup! Remember the stretch pants so you can squat down to play with your little one, or pick that toy up off the sidewalk they threw for the 100th time! The J crew Pixie Pants are some of my favorites because I don't feel naked wearing them, yet they are as cozy as leggings. What are you buying on sale now?

Chic Top Knot Made Mom Fast

Chic Top Knot Made Mom Fast
This post is for those who hate having their hair in their face and just don't have enough of it, or enough time, to make a thick top knot without a little help. A bun maker is the solution - it's an implant for your hair. If you can make a pony tail and pin three bobbies in - you will have a super chic top knot that looks like you had a trip to the salon. A top knot even makes a chunky sweater and boyfriend jeans Parisian and mom chic!

Happy New Year!

Shirt: Loft. Skirt: h&m (recent) Booties: Nine West (old) similar here.
Happy New Year! Sorry for the delay in posts for those of you actually checking my blog (thank you for that - by the way). I had a hard time blogging after the recent tragedy in Sandy Hook in my home state of CT. It just felt, well, superficial to post about clothes and shoes at a time when I was feeling so grateful for the things that really matter in life, like family and friends -especially after watching others go through such unimaginable loss. So, my resolution is to be more grateful every day for the loved ones in my life, take more time to tell them, and relish in their hugs. I wish everyone a healthy happy new year! What is your resolution?
