Street Style to Mom Style - Leather

Street Style to Mom Style

When I saw this street style photo I was in awe of this model's simple but chic look and wanted to translate it to something that wouldn't look crazy wearing around town in the suburbs! I love leather pants but they can read a bit too much in real life unless you are at a club. Coated jeans are a great option because they have the leather look but are denim. An even better option is a pair of leggings with leather side panels. You get a touch of leather for the edge, but they are still so comfy and you can bend down to pick up the kids or that toy you almost tripped over for the tenth time. Use your leopard loafers from a few posts ago and you are ready to roll! I love how this model tones down the leather with some cozy cable knit. Zara also has some great cable options here and here.

I think it's key to keep the makeup simple when you are wearing leather and leopard...what do you think?

What are your thoughts on leather pants, coated jeans, and leather paneled leggings? Would you wear them? Are they Mom friendly?

Paris Tee

Tee: Madewell  // Jeans: Zara ( last year) similar here from Gap. Loafers: Old Navy  // Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs // Handbag: Target // Juice Box: Capri Sun  Bracelets: Stella and Dot Renegade

Pictures By : My sister! Thanks!

What do I wear to the BMX track? A tee and jeans of course! I am so loving the camo trend as it is a definite dirt hider - and let me tell you, there is a lot of dirt at the BMX track. Getting dirty is totally worth it when you know that your kid is having so much fun and getting exercise.

My outfit posts are real outfits I actually wear and keep on while I am out and about with my son! I love to be inspired by blogs but keep it real at home. What is more kid friendly than jeans and a tee?

What sports do your kids do? And what do you wear to sport practice and games? Do you carry everything in one bag or have a separate kid friendly tote like my new Target bag ?

Amazing Fall Finds at Target

Amazing Fall Finds at Target

So I was in my local Target on the hunt for one of these Phillip Lim for Target Totes that looks so much like his beloved Pashli Satchel. The Pashli is $895 but the target bag is $54.99! I was able to snag the last one as my local target sold out fast. While at Target I got to do some browsing and I was so impressed with their fall selection for such great prices.

Want to look cool like Jenna Lyons without dropping $200 on fashion glasses from Madewell or Super ...Target has them for $8.00!

I had been wanting leather paneled leggings but again don't want to drop so much dough on a trendy item. Target had them for under $20.00 and even quilted ones! They also had these great booties that look exactly like the Rag and Bone harrow booties all the celebs are wearing. Now of course you are saving because the bags and leggings are pleather and the boots faux suede. I am not begrudging anyone for wanting to buy the original quality item either. An investment is an investment.

I tried not to get too distracted from my actual grocery list but did pick up a few great things.

Do you shop at Target? What do you like to find there? Do you find you spend more there because it is a one stop shop than you would otherwise?

Have a Great Day!

Leopard Loafers For Less

Leopard Loafers For Less

I am finally going to accept that the loafer trend is here to stay...at least for one more season! I decided to finally get in on this trend because loafers are so mom friendly and when styled right are so chic! Since, I am not sure if this trend will stick around another year, I am sticking with a budget friendly pair. I love all of the "possible" options above but ended up buying these loafers from Old Navy for under $20!. I used a promo code (ontreat) for 20% off and my rewards to save even more! They are so budget friendly I bought them in brown and grey. I wish they had half sizes but don't, so I sized up so I could place a Heel Hugs in. Heel Hugs are great and I use them in a lot of my shoes, especially those with pointy toe where you want to size up for more toe room but still need the heel to fit snugly. What do you use in your shoes to make them more comfy?

What do you think of the loafer trend? Will it stick around? Are you wearing loafers this fall?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday!

Neon into Fall

Sweater: J. Crew (old) , similar Gap Sweater Here and on sale// Jeans: Current Elliot Rolled Skinny // Boots: Madewell (last season) this year's here // Vest: Ralph Lauren denim supply (old) but love this camoflauge version // Glasses: mirrored aviators - cheapies from airport kiosk// Watch: Timex easy reader //Sandals: target // Bracelets: Stella and Dot

New England fall is characterized by cool mornings and as high as a 30 degree warm up by afternoon. This outfit was my solution for what to wear for one of those days. By mid day it is time to take off the vest and boots and throw on some sandals. I can chase after my little one in both shoes too! In case you were wondering, my outfit posts are real outfits I actually wear and keep on during the day.  I am not at fashion week and probably never will be. But I am where my heart is - home!

Speaking of fashion week, I was laughing because many of my fave blogger's posts this week have been entitled "My Bag - Fashion Week Edition". This has inspired me to do a post soon ..."My Bag - Mommy Edition". But somehow, empty cheese stick wrappers and wipes are just not as glamorous as tickets to the DVF show and Nars lipstick - but they surely are a sign of love!

What's in your bag moms...any items that really help out in a bind?...SHARE!

Holy Chic Tee

Holy Chic Tee: Nordstrom // Jeans: Current Elliot // Sandals: Old Navy // Neon necklace: from E-bay // Handbag: Kate Spade Large Maryanne // Sunglasses: E-Bay

After seeing Peony Lim (here) in this "cheeky tee", I became a little obsessed. After all, the name of this blog is Super Chic Mom! But let me clear the record - most of the time I do not think that I am "super chic" but am only trying to put my best fashion foot forward within my means. Most of us non super model moms will never be in the realm of a super blogger like Peony Lim or fashion model Miranda Kerr but we can at least try. That is what this blog is about, putting a little time and effort towards your self because what can build confidence and good self esteem in your kids but having it in your self?

How do you inspire self esteem and confidence in your kids? What items, cheeky or not, make you feel chic?

Summer Stripes into Fall

Summer Stripes into Fall
I really don't want summer to be over since it is my favorite season! In this look, I am trying to find a way to stretch some of my summer items into fall with things I already have. What items are you stretching into fall?

I have a few friends whose kids are off to kindergarten or college! How is everyone doing with your kids back at school?

Have  great day!
