I am looking for a way to style mine in a new way. I love my Ugg Boots but just might be feeling like I am a little too old to wear them (at least to go out in public in them). My husband pretty much teases me every time I wear them out - not that I let that stop me :) . I really want something just as cozy that I can quickly slip on to run out to greet the bus or buy milk in. How cool are these moto boots? While I am definitely more of a preppy girl, I definitely admire that effortless cool look with a touch of tough. I think I like the possible boots even more than the pricey because the bottom is leather and a little more waterproof than a full suede boot. I already own an aran sweater from Zara and distressed jeans so I can put these boots to work right away in my wardrobe without needing to buy anything more. Fall Cravings - Zara Wish list

I am so obsessed with Zara's new arrivals. My only saving grace is that I tend to be in between sizes and really need to try things on. My nearest store is about an hour and 15 minute drive. I know - Zara does free shipping and returns over $50. Luckily for me - most of these items aren't really practical and will probably just stay in my wish list, right? Are you loving Zara this season too?

Trench Coats under $150.00

I have been on the hunt for the perfect trench coat for probably three years now. Caveat- I don't want to spend more than $150. I know a lot of people would say that a trench is an investment but for my budget a $700+ Burberry just doesn't work. I don't wear a trench coat more than a handful of times a year but like to have one in my wardrobe because they work great as a dressier spring coat as well if the occasion arises.

Here are my trench requirements: 1) somewhat water resistant 2) shorter collar 3) belt at waist 4) not super long to keep it more casual 5) not too light or dark 6) not stiff . I tried the Gap trench but I was in between sizes and couldn't get the right fit (even tried petite medium).  I tried the J. Crew Factory trench but found it to be very stiff . Comfort is key for any coats because otherwise you just pass them over and turn to something else in your closet.

So I am going to order these two above and give them a try. The one on the left is from H&M and is $70.00. The coat on the right is from Zara and is $140.00. I would love to hear your suggestions especially if you have a trench you love!

I invested in a cable knit sweater from Zara last season and have been amazed in how versatile it is. Especially when you change it up with a scarf. A simple scarf change can really give you a different look pending the vibe you are going for ...and keep you warm! I have found throwing a stylish scarf on is a great way to look chic quickly when you are running out the door to the bus stop maybe? There are so many great affordable scarves out there!

I don't know why, but this fall I am craving some Burgundy colored accessories. Is it too much to have it on your lips, hat, and boots? Maybe, but look how well it works on Lacey from A Lacey Perspective. I am also loving this A&E fur scarf for under $35.00! I think if you are throwing on some fur, it helps to dress it down with distressed jeans, utility jacket, and cap.

Street Style to Mom Style - Leather

When I saw this street style photo I was in awe of this model's simple but chic look and wanted to translate it to something that wouldn't look crazy wearing around town in the suburbs! I love leather pants but they can read a bit too much in real life unless you are at a club. Coated jeans are a great option because they have the leather look but are denim. An even better option is a pair of leggings with leather side panels. You get a touch of leather for the edge, but they are still so comfy and you can bend down to pick up the kids or that toy you almost tripped over for the tenth time. Use your leopard loafers from a few posts ago and you are ready to roll! I love how this model tones down the leather with some cozy cable knit. Zara also has some great cable options here and here.

I think it's key to keep the makeup simple when you are wearing leather and leopard...what do you think?

Pool Side

I love a simple strapless jersey dress for the summer. You can dress it up so easily with some leopard sandals and some gold jewelry. What I like about this look better than your typical cover up, is you can really wear it from the pool to the car and even for lunch without feeling exposed. The black doesn't even show if a little wets gets through from your suit is underneath. The tote has enough room for your and your kids needs and patent is way more water resistant than regular leather or canvas. The bag is a little pricey (on sale now at Toryburch.com) but so versatile, and can even function as a diaper bag if you throw a changing pad in. What do you wear poolside?

Flamingo Print for Moms

Summer is definitely my favorite season. I love all things tropical - including pina coladas, palm trees, and flamingos. When I saw this Tory Burch Tunic, I was in love. But, not quite enough to invest so much on something so whimsical. Luckily, Forever 21 and Zara have great, super affordable options. So - I can buy my whimsy bird print without breaking the bank. How to style it ? A beach vibe with denim shorts and sandals keeps this motif from becoming too old crazy print lady. A fedora and bright pink lip make it more young and modern. What do you think , summer fun or too much?
