Zara Fur Collar Coat

Coat: Zara (sold out but find on e-bay) // Shirt: J. Crew (on sale!) // Jeans: J. Brand 620 // Boots: Hunter // Boot Socks: Target // Sunglasses: Celine Sofia // Handbag: Phillip Lim for Target

The snow was starting to melt on the one day I wanted it to be cold to rock some fur. I wanted this fur collar coat which sadly sold out on Zara online. It has a fur collar that is detachable and removed in these photos. I was able to wait and found it on E-Bay for less than it retailed for.  I actually wanted to wear it and show it with the fur but I wore this to a kids birthday party and I thought the fur might be too much, especially since it was warm this day. Unfortunately we are back in the teens today!

Do you change what you wear based on what you think is appropriate for the occasion or just wear what you love?

Thanks for stopping by!

Fuzzy Cardigan

Jeans: J. Brand 620 // Shirt: J. Crew ( from fall) // Boots: Hunter // Sunglasses: OASAP Retro Cat eye  (I really didn't need sunglasses but am still camera shy) // Sweater: H&M ( on sale $20!!) // Bag: Phillip Lim for Target // Jacket: Barbour International from Madewell ( last year) similar here.

It's another cold and just - as the kids would say - yuk day!  But you still have to get out and I got to wear my new fuzzy cardigan. I wasn't totally sure how to style it. I had a great idea to wear it with distressed boyfriend jeans with a tee and heels but the weather did  not cooperate. I wore this running errands and grocery shopping in a light rain. Short and sweet post here to end this busy week which I ended by signing my son up for Kindergarten. I tell you the time is flying by (too fast sometimes)!

I hope you and your friends and family have a great weekend and relish all the little moments!

H&M Mohair Sweater

Sweater: H&M // Jeans: Current/Elliott rolled skinny // Boots: Madewell Billie (on sale now) Glasses: Foster Grant from CVS ( polarized and under $20) // Watch: Michael Kors (old) // Lips: Nars Schiap

Sorry for the inside pictures, but I just couldn't bear freezing outside in yet another snowstorm for these pictures - and neither could my son! Can you believe my blog photog is a four year old! We are serious here at super chic mom!

I really wanted to show you this sweater from affordable H&M. It actually is super warm. I first saw it on the very chic website Le Catch and almost forgot about it until I was perusing their site and also bought this fuzzy cardigan . I guess I am just craving cozy warm things. Kids have their stuffed animals or loveys as we call them in my house - I have my mohair.

By the way I saw the most chic mom at Starbucks the other day with her teenage daughter. She was in skinny jeans, a fur trimmed coat, shearling lined wedge booties, beanie and had a sick LV bag on her arm. It reminded me that when I started this blog I really didn't want it to be about me but about all the inspiring street style that can also be practical for moms or the everyday woman. I hope in the near future to include articles and some "mommy suburban street style pics" here too!

Stay warm!

Warmer Days Ahead

Warmer Days Ahead

Warmer Days Ahead by superchicmom featuring Madewell

Well, it is 15 degrees here in new England again today with another foot or so of snow. I was able to get into the Gap for a quick trip and was feeling inspired by the light airy colors, lighter denim, and spring colors. Gap is totally winning me back lately. I keep thinking of cute spring outfits to wear. Warmer days are ahead right?

Are you loving Gap lately? Dreaming of Spring?

Hope you had a great weekend!

Sparkle Sweater

Sweater: J. Crew (on sale too!) // Jeans: Rag & Bone Skinny // Bag: Phillip Lim for Target // Boots: Old Navy // Shirt: J. Crew Factory // sunglasses: Celine Sofia

So, I took my coat off for about 30 seconds to have a quick outfit photo taken in the lovely 14 degree winter air! Knowing that we are soon about to get another huge snow storm, I had to break out my ankle boots since most of the sidewalks are clean (for today). I love my Sorel boots but have been wearing them too much lately. I wore this to the store to buy school Valentines and then to the children's library.

The best thing about a jeweled sweater...the gems are sewn on so your little ones can't tug and pull them off you like they do earrings, necklaces, and sunglasses! And, to keep the look from being too sparkly, you don't need too many accessories. It's a quick throw on that makes the day a little more glam.

What are your favorite jeweled pieces?

Inspired by Miranda Kerr - Double Denim

Inspired by Miranda Kerr - Double Denim

Inspired by Miranda Kerr - Double Denim by superchicmom featured in miranda kerr outfits

Miranda Kerr is just one of the most stylish women (and moms) out there. Granted, she is a fashion super model, but there is so much about her style that is casual chic. I love how she did the double denim look here. I almost always wear this look with darker denim on the bottom but this reversed version totally works! This is definitely one of my everyday uniforms, as this look is so easy to change up with accessories. See another amazing version on Rachell from Pink Peonies here. (images above via polyvore)

How do you guys style double denim? A yes or no?

Pricey vs Possible: Cheetah Pump

Pricey vs Possible: Cheetah Pump

Pricey vs Possible: Cheetah Pump by superchicmom featuring how to wear cheetah print pumps

I really don't get to wear heels that often in "my real life". I work in health care and wear scrubs and sneakers almost every day. On my days off, I am running errands or taking my son to one lesson or another or doing something active outside with him. But don't get me wrong, I love a good pump, and often fantasize about a career I could wear them more often. However, any heel that I am actually going to buy - and not just admire sitting on my closet floor - has to be walkable! I really can't wear more than a 3.5 inch heel. I once tried on these Loeffler Randall pumps and could not believe how comfy they were. But at $350.00 the price per wear did not work for my budget. I happen to have a serious problem with leopard print shoes (see post here) .  These h&m pumps fit the bill for the cheetah pattern, heel height, budget, and comfort. I have a few pairs of h&m shoes and they are all pretty comfy. After this find, these pumps are now possible for me!

Have you bought shoes at h&m ? What are your thoughts on their comfort and sizing? Do you wear heels often and what heel height works for you?
