Summer To Fall Silk

I know what you are thinking....silk...for a mom? I know  it does take a little more care, and you might not want to wear this if you know there is a good chance you are going to get spit up on, but the silhouette of this blouse is utterly casual and it can transition super well into fall if you add a grey cardigan or blazer. Still hot out? Trade the jean for denim shorts. This top can be so easily dressed up with the necklace, but you could even try it with sweatpants and these flats. I know the bag is a little pricey, but it is just so sick I couldn't resist. A Mom does need to splurge now and then. I am obsessed with turquoise and a pop of bright pink or coral.on the lips. For fall, change the coral out for the red matte lip that I am reading is going to be the it lip for fall.

A little ruching goes a long way....

It is amazing how a little extra fabric can actually take inches away around your waist or add dimension to your bust. Plus, ruching just adds a certain touch of glamour to the swim suit. A string bikini bottom is often thought of for only the super skinny, but it actually works well on many figures because you can adjust it to avoid strangling the ever annoying muffin top I seem to have developed post baby. So until I can afford cool sculpting I will settle for super chic ruching!

Hot Summer Party Wear

So, invited to a party with or without the kids and it's going to be really HOT because it's summer and we are having a heat wave? Hmmmm....what to wear? Here are two ideas inspired by some chic moms I spotted lately. One  option if you need to be a little dressier, and the other option more casual. I am crazy for Ray Ban's new wayfarers. They have a smaller frame and are still retro. Longing for a board walk?

I know I am, even though I just got back from vacation. Nothing is more fitting for summer than a striped dress and espadrilles. I am craving both of these dresses which can be dressed up or down. The question is, can you push a stroller down this path which hopefully ends at the beach...where the kids can play in the sand and you can hopefully relax for a minute? Well, at least until they run into the water without their floaties. Ah, a mom can dream can't she?
