Panama Hat and Vintage Cars

Tank: J. Crew //Hat: J. Crew //Jeans: J. Brand (on Sale here) // Sandals: Target (sold out) // Bag: Louis Vuitton from the 90's! // Bracelet: Hermes inspired from Etsy // Spike Bracelets: Stella and Dot from E-bay

It just occurred to me that I have been blogging about one year now, since my first post was from this vintage car race last year. This blog remains a work in progress and still is just a fun hobby. I want to thank everyone who follows along and checks in as my page views have grown (a little at least...). I have enjoyed becoming a part of the "style" blogging community and continue to be impressed with how fellow bloggers encourage each other in a time when the Internet allows people to say some really nasty things with near anonymity. I really enjoy checking in with the blogs I follow and continue to be inspired by your style!

I am trying to soak up every last bit of summer with my son as I know that next year he will be starting "real school". Fall fashion and our beloved September issues are in the forefront but I am still trying to get some more wear from my summer items. Are you ready to put your summer stuff away or still holding on for a few more weeks with me?

For those of you with kids who started school are you missing them or happy for the me time again?

Have a great Labor Day to all you hard working Moms out there!

Jeans: Gap Sexy Boyfriend // Blazer: J. Crew Factory (old) // Tank: J. Crew sold out but ( Popover version here) and on sale now! // Pumps: h&m // Bag: Chanel Sunglasses: Number One (from e-bay). Stud belt: J. Crew (old) this year's version here. Watch: Micheal Kors (old) .  Nail Polish: Aha moment from Sephora by OPI

Maybe I should have titled this post blue suede shoes AGAIN! I told you I am getting some good wear out of these 25$ pumps! You will definitely see me wear things I love again and again ....I try not to get in too much of a rut, but definitely believe in buying things that will get worn. I love fashion and blogs and am often tempted to purchase something I see that looks so amazing on a blogger. However, I do work with a budget and have to realize I live in the suburbs and not LA or NYC. On Jill's Good Life Blog, she openly speaks about her monthly budget and how she makes it work for her. I am a new fan of her blog because she is a mom (and a super chic one at that), sticks to a budget, and shows her readers how to get the most out of their money. Check goodlife.blogspot.com and her budget post here. What have you bought lately that you have been wearing a lot?

Inspired By Olivia

Inspired By Olivia
Well, as far as I know Olivia Palermo is not a mom yet. But, how could I not be inspired by this super chic, easy, yet mom friendly attire so perfect for running around during the last days of summer. I tried to recreate with mom budget friendly items. That being said, it is really tough to find a tweed bag under $100. This cute colorful carryall from anthro does the trick though for a splash of color. I know a lot of moms have back to school shopping to do this week, and what more of a perfect look to keep you warm in the AC of the big box stores and cool when you are back in the car. Are you all ready for back to school or wishing for more summer? (Image of Olivia and stills from Polyvore)

Blue Suede Shoes

Umbrella: Nautica // Coat: J. Crew // Top: J. Crew (on sale now) // Shoes: H&M (Now you can shop online!!) //Jeans: J. Brand (also on sale now!!) //Belt: old unknown //Bracelet: J. Crew Factory

Feeling like I needed a pop of color on a rainy day, I threw on these blue H&M pumps I bought in the early spring. When you make a good H&M buy, it's like there is nothing better because the prices are so amazing. I mean these shoes are under $25! I was in love with the J. Crew Everly  but couldn't justify the price in such a bright color that I might not wear that often. The H&M pump is also very comfortable with a perfect 3" walkable heel. And I am so happy that we can now shop H&M online! I love shopping in the store, but it is easy to get overwhelmed as my local store always feels somewhat crowded. I mean you can barely get a stroller through those aisles! Ahhh, the trips I have taken there looking for an item I have seen online or on a celebrity only to find it's not available in my store! We busy moms don't have that kind of time. I have yet to order something, but am anxiously awaiting fall and relieved I can just shop from the comfort of my own home. Will you be shopping H&M online?

The Simplest Things

The Simplest Things
Ahhh....the heart of summer...August. Things I am loving right now are the simple things: time with family, long nights, warm breezes, and maybe just a touch of sunburn (just on me ...not the little one!). To go with that mood, white jeans, white nails, and easy sandals and tee. What simple things are you enjoying?

Hat and Denim

Hat: J. Crew // Shorts: LC by Lauren Conrad at Kohls (old) but this year's here. // Sweater: J. Crew (old) // Sandals: Target // Sunglasses: Number One from E-bay // Locket: J. Crew (old) // Spike Bracelet: Stella and Dot but found mine pre-owned on E-bay for 50% off!

Our heat wave finally took a reprieve long enough for me to break out one of my linen sweaters. I love linen because it is so light and cool. I did wash this sweater and it has held up pretty well. One thing that has definitely changed for me after becoming a mother is that I really only try to buy fabrics I can wash. Almost everything ends up with a stain on it! At what age does this stop fellow moms? What fabrics do you gravitate towards or avoid? BTW, these sandals were sold out online but appear to be back in stock and I find myself wearing them a ton! They are under 17$ and look way more expensive.Have a great weekend!
