Pricey Vs. Possible: Isabel Marant Dicker Boot

Pricey Vs. Possible: Isabel Marant Dicker Boot

Pricey Vs. Possible: Isabel Marant Dicker Boot by superchicmom featuring ankle boots

The Isabel Marant Dicker Boot has been seen on a lot of celebrities and I love it for it's versatility. It can be worn with dresses, jeans, and shorts and is virtually season less. I think the ankle boot will stick around for another season or two - it's just too comfy and chic not to! It is also perfect for a mom on the go or the everyday woman thanks to its walkable heel.

The Isabel Marant Boot is pretty awesome but it will cost you a pretty penny. I found this H&M version that is SOOO similar and on sale! I think I am sticking with the budget friendly version on this one, how about you?

Do you think ankle boots will stay on trend? What boots do you wear in spring?

Inspired by Victoria Beckham: Street Style to Mom Style

Alright, Victoria Beckham may be the most glamorous mother of all time. Generally, I love her style but find it way too much for jetting around the suburbs. But why not copy one of her more attainable looks?  I think this look is casual chic and great for transitioning to spring. I think most of us have some of these pieces in our closet already to make this look budget friendly!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

J. Crew Schoolboy Blazer and Date Night

Shirt: J. Crew ( can't find online anymore but similar here ) // Blazer: J. Crew (on super sale!) // Jeans: Current/ Elliott Stiletto (not online anymore but same color in Fling model here) // Shoes: H&M // Sunglasses: Westward Leaning // Earrings: Chanel // Bag: Vintage Chloe from E-Bay

I am not going to lie, date night is probably not as regular as it should be around here, but when we do get out together without the little one it is always enjoyable. I love getting the chance to dress up a little bit. I do not wear heels when I am running around town on errands, or going to swimming lesson or soccer, so I relish the opportunity to put on a blazer and heels!

You can't go wrong with a classic black blazer. See me wear it in this post from the fall here. I love buying an item and finding I can wear it again and again. That to me is what the everyday woman needs - items that work regularly in our closet and remain timeless.

Do you do date night regularly? What is your go to date night look? What items in your closet are timeless and you wear again and again?

Pricey vs. Possible: Coral Tweed Moto On Sale

Pricey vs. Possible: Coral Tweed Moto

Pricey vs. Possible: Coral Tweed Moto by superchicmom featuring a pink biker jacket

One of the best items that you can throw on over a tee and jeans is a tweed jacket. It elevates any look. I love the idea of the tweed blazer with a motorcycle style because it adds some edge to a very classic look and is perfect for a Mom on the go or for work for the everyday woman (see post here for my look). The jacket on the left was originally over $300.00 and has been popular on some blogs like the ivory lane . When I got a sale alert from Shop Style that the blazer on the  right went on sale, I had to share with you! I love this look with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans and flats or ankle boots. How about you?

Do you rock tweed blazers? Are you loving the pricey or the possible?

Neon Shirt

Shirt: J. Crew ( on sale with an extra 40% off!) // Jeans: J Brand Midrise Super Skinny // Sneakers: New Balance Tomboy // Bag: Chloe vintage from E-bay // Sunglasses: Westward Leaning

It is finally warm enough today to venture out without a jacket. Even though it is a little overcast, it is so nice not to have to manage hats, scarves, gloves, and the groceries! It is definitely much easier to hit the post office, grocery store, and get gas for the car in lighter layers and in COLOR!

I hope you all have a great weekend with your friends and family!

J Crew Graphic Tee

Shirt: J. Crew // Jeans: J. Brand Mid Rise Super Skinny // Loafers: Vince Camuto Edmonton (no longer on-line but love these Madewell flats and they are on sale! // Blazer: H&M ( super old) // Bag: Chloe Edith Satchel (vintage from E-bay) // Sunglasses: Westward Leaning // Necklace: (gifted) from Anthropologie

This is an outfit I wore out to get some pizza with the family which means it's cozy and washable! Mid rise jeans with stretch are a MUST for pizza night. The graphic tee and the statement necklace and the leopard loafers might have been a bit too much for pizza night...but I kind of love it?

Also, if you are looking for a pair of sunglasses, I highly recommend Westward Leaning. I have been searching high and low for wayfarers that look OK on me. These have a very slight cat eye which I think works on almost everyone. Most of my glasses are super cheap since little ones seem to always destroy them.  Now that my son is getting older and knows he shouldn't grab them directly off my face, I was ready to get one investment pair.  They are definitely pricey, but I sold some things on E-bay to keep them in budget. They are Olivia Palermo's go to glasses and are under $200.00. Want to see them on some other people....check out their celebrity look book page. In addition they donate $10 of each pair to charity. I am really impressed with the comfort and quality and even wore them skiing all day too.

And aren't we glad it's sunglass season!

Pricey vs. Possible: Bucket Bag and D'orsay Flat

Pricey vs. Possible: Bucket Bag and D'orsay Flat

Pricey vs. Possible: Bucket Bag and D'orsay Flat by superchicmom featuring flat shoes

Two big trends I have noticed this spring are the d'orsay flat and the leather bucket bag. I have seen the Mansur Gavriel bag ((seen on Blair here) and Jenny Kayne shoes on the left in many blog posts. I was able to find very similar alternatives to save you about $840.oo to make the pricey possible! I have seen the Old Navy bag in person and it actually looks quite expensive - you would never know it is not real leather!

Are you embracing these two trends for spring?

SHOP THE POSSIBLE:

How To Child Proof Your Handbag

Let me start this post by saying I am not really a DIY person or a craftswomen. This is a very simple thing I do to keep my bags looking better and lasting longer and if anyone has any other suggestions...please share!  The Chloe bag is vintage, and was purchased from E-bay. ( A reader recently asked about buying luxury from E-Bay - more detailed post to follow). The bag is in great condition but needs some shaping.

Cut strips of cardboard to fit bottom and lower sides of bag if needed.

Wrap cardboard in cotton or another material that won't bleed and is absorbent. I use a plain white tee.

The base piece wrapped and the sides ready to be inserted.

The bag's natural shape with inserts with nothing in it yet! So much better than the floppy mess from the before. The bag is also now a little more protected from sagging from heavier items or from spills.

I use a separate bag that carries my essentials which adds another layer of protection. This way if a lipstick melts, it's in the little black bag and not all over the pocket book. It also allows me to change bags more quickly knowing most of what I need is in that little black bag. I also always pack my son's snacks in a little zip lock bag so if they get crushed or the package opens it's not in my bag. This little trick has kept a lot of my bags in better shape which helps preserve their resale value or just keep them looking good so you can keep them longer!

How do you protect your bags?

Gap Camo Jacket

Jacket: Gap ( last year) // Turtleneck: J. Crew (on serious sale) // Jeans: Rag and Bone // Sunglasses: Celine Sofia // Boots: Madewell Billie // Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

A quick outfit shot in the rain for you. This was - yet again - an errand running outfit. If you are like me errand running is never ending between groceries, mail, picking up gifts, drug store, and the dry cleaner. I always want to be comfy but have some sort of style. I also wear something that I can wash - my little one loves to eat in the car and I always seem to get spilled on at some point. Okay - confession - sometimes I spill on myself too (darn ice coffee)!

What do you wear running errands?
