So, I really have had no time to get to the hair salon or have had to cancel because the day care plague of one sort or another has visited our family. The plague is what I refer to as one illness or another my son brings home from pre-school. Therefore, I have been wearing a lot of hats lately. Here are some cool and affordable stylish hats available at our fave retailers. Lucky for us ladies with roots, hats - especially baseball caps- are so in this season.

So I was in my local Target on the hunt for one of these Phillip Lim for Target Totes that looks so much like his beloved Pashli Satchel. The Pashli is $895 but the target bag is $54.99! I was able to snag the last one as my local target sold out fast. While at Target I got to do some browsing and I was so impressed with their fall selection for such great prices.

Want to look cool like Jenna Lyons without dropping $200 on fashion glasses from Madewell or Super ...Target has them for $8.00!

I had been wanting leather paneled leggings but again don't want to drop so much dough on a trendy item. Target had them for under $20.00 and even quilted ones! They also had these great booties that look exactly like the Rag and Bone harrow booties all the celebs are wearing. Now of course you are saving because the bags and leggings are pleather and the boots faux suede. I am not begrudging anyone for wanting to buy the original quality item either. An investment is an investment.

I tried not to get too distracted from my actual grocery list but did pick up a few great things.

The Simplest Things

Ahhh....the heart of summer...August. Things I am loving right now are the simple things: time with family, long nights, warm breezes, and maybe just a touch of sunburn (just on me ...not the little one!). To go with that mood, white jeans, white nails, and easy sandals and tee. What simple things are you enjoying?

Same Accessories, Two Nautical Looks



I have been inspired by so many of my fave bloggers lately ( see here and here)  wearing some of these items that I wanted to see what I could do to use them in different ways using the same accessories, but different core pieces that I already have. I feel like both these looks easily transition from day to night (at least in a mom's world) due to the bold gold accessories and hint of bling on the sandals and top! A bright coral lipstick gives that pop of color. Recognize some of these items?....I believe in an edited closet, buying items that multi-task just like all you moms do! How do you mix up looks around accessories?
