Must Have Mommy Wear

My fall must have is this grey sweatshirt from Kate Spade ( buy here  ). It is adorable with a hint of sex appeal and super versatile. While it is costlier than your average sweatshirt, it is, in my opinion, worth every cent. It was designed by an amazing french fashion blogger with great style.  If you divide the price by wear, it is a good deal. After all, I will be wearing this alot....with jeans (blue and red), camo skinnies, and black leggings. Pop it with red lips, patent ballets, a top knot, and you have super chic mom style in sweats. After all, comfort is part of the joy of living.

Summer to Fall Must Haves

I love when my September issues start arriving with the promise of new trends, and things I must have. Oh - but wait- I am on a budget (at least if my child wants to go to college someday). So that editorial D & G floral dress is just not going to work for me; I might look a little crazy wearing it to the playground. So I reassess, what is in my closet and how can I work it through the year? Do these items look familiar...yes! These are things that I - and you -likely already own and can easily mix and match to meet the crazy fall temps. I am crazy for this Kate Spade tote. I own similar in beige. But could it look any more Chanel at about 1/5th of the cost? And the chambray shirt just keeps getting better every time you wash it after getting some type of child hand print on it. Sad summer is leaving, but can't wait to start layering! What are your thoughts super chic moms?

Hot Summer Party Wear

So, invited to a party with or without the kids and it's going to be really HOT because it's summer and we are having a heat wave? Hmmmm....what to wear? Here are two ideas inspired by some chic moms I spotted lately. One  option if you need to be a little dressier, and the other option more casual. I am crazy for Ray Ban's new wayfarers. They have a smaller frame and are still retro. Summer in the City Chic



So, I had a girls weekend in NYC for a very special baby shower (not mine!) and got a few hours to shop one afternoon (hence the missed post). I was so inspired by many of the simply summer chic women I spotted on the street. I tried to take mental notes of commonalities and noticed a few themes: 1) oversize sunglasses 2) an easy breezy dress 3) metallic sandals 4) a classy Hermes inspired satchel. These items work as individuals or come together so well. They just look classy. Now, I am not sure if these ladies were moms, since they were sans strollers, but every item is practical and works into many other looks.
